 Our people

  • John Robson
    John qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1982. Extensive estate management experience dealing with both Settled Land Act and private Estates. Valuation work including commercial property and experience in acting on behalf of clients in arbitrations and Court both on valuation and rural technical matters. Previous Commodore of Ullswater Yacht Club, he enjoys dingy racing and also flying microlight aircraft.
  • Julie Liddle
    Julie qualified in 2002 and specialises in all landlord and tenant arrangements (rural and commercial) along with property management and valuation. She negotiates many option agreements with housing and renewable energy developers and has a particular interest in rural planning. Julie is a fanatical Sunderland AFC supporter and holds a private pilot’s licence.
  • John Turner
    John is a qualified chartered surveyor with over 25 years’ experience managing rural estates. He began at the National Trust's Stourhead Estate in Wiltshire before moving to the Lonsdale Estate here in Cumbria, where he is resident agent. John is married with three children and enjoys getting out on his motorbike and spending time with the family.
  • James Pyrah
    James is a trainee surveyor and land agent having previously completed a degree in Forestry and Conservation. He is working towards becoming fully qualified and undertakes a wide variety of work including mapping. He has a love of outdoor activities and a keen interest in cars.
  • Joanne Potter
    Joanne is an assistant/office administrator on the Lonsdale Estate, and an active committee member of Dufton Agricultural Show, enjoys walking, baking & has recently taken up gardening, eagerly awaiting her first crop of new potatoes. She previously worked as secretary of the Eddie Stobart Fan Club!
  • Fiona Coleman
    Fiona is a chartered accountant and has lived in Cumbria for seven years being originally from the Midlands. She enjoys looking at wildlife, cycling and generally being out in the countryside.
  • Samantha Robson
    Samantha graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a BSc Hons in Urban Land Economics and has since worked as a management surveyor in the retail sector. Her surveying background is most useful for working as an accounts administrator for various clients’ estates. Samantha loves a variety of sports but is most enthusiastic about sailing and skiing.
  • Felicity Robson
    Felicity is our Edenhall Estate Administrator. Alongside her normal role she also works on CAD producing scale drawings for planning applications and is also our technical wizz for our Mac computers. She studied architectural engineering at Heriot Watt University before travelling for a few years teaching sailing and skiing. She enjoys the outdoors and working in the countryside.
  • Tomos Davies
    Tomos is a student surveyor and rejoined us in 2017 having previously completed a student work placement with the firm during his university studies. Tomos holds a BSc in Rural Enterprise and Land Management from Harper Adams University. He is originally from Denbighshire in North Wales.
  • Jessica Heywood
    Jessica is our student surveyor and assists the team with valuations, planning, landlord and tenant issues, and estate visits. Originally from Devon, she's two years into a Rural Enterprise and Land Management course at Harper Adams university. Outside of work, Jessica is a keen young farmer, having grown up on sheep, dairy and game farms.
  • Ann Tyson
    Working as our executive PA, Ann is an integral part of the team who works alongside our directors to ensure the smooth running of the business. Ann is a Herdwick sheep farmer’s daughter and grew up on Cote Farm, Howtown. A keen walker, Ann spends much of her free time roaming the fells with her two hounds Gossip and Gunner and two collies Reef and Sally.
