The Countryside Productivity Small Grants Scheme (CPSG) application period opens today until noon on the 4th November 2020. The CPSG provides funding for farmers to purchase agricultural equipment to improve their farm business efficiency.
Farmers in England (including livestock, arable, dairy and horticultural sectors) are able to make an application to the scheme.
Round 3 permits farmers to apply for grants for £3,000 to £12,000, at 40% funding to purchase equipment to improve their productivity. This can include items such as, but not limited to, fixed or mobile handling systems, weighing crates, water treatment systems, livestock monitoring cameras or yield monitoring/GPS equipment.
Successful applicants from previous CPSG rounds are able to apply again for different equipment up to a total grant limit of £12,000.
The new Agricultural Bill, which is now nearing Royal Assent, gives Government permission to provide financial assistance to farmers’ in order to improve their productivity or deliver environmental and public benefits. It is expected that further information in relation to the Bill and farming assistance funding will be announced later this year.
