PFK Rural welcomes a familiar face as new Director

PFK Rural are starting 2024 with more good news, a new member of staff and Director of the company is soon to join.

James Pyrah starts his new role on 1st April, having spent just over a year working for the Duchy of Lancaster, and now with 9 years experience in the industry, PFK Rural are delighted to have secured his signature.

James originally trained with Robson & Liddle (Rural), here at Penrith in 2015, which is the precursor to the revised PFK Rural after they took over R&L in 2022. His experience and knowledge are a huge boost to the new team at PFK Rural.

After graduating from University James undertook postgraduate studies at Harper Adams University, Shropshire, whilst working full time. He undertook professional exams following this period and is now a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), Registered Valuer, and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (FAAV).

James is married with two children and after leaving the Duchy as Senior Estates Surveyor, taking on the day to day estate management of the Lancashire Foreshore Surveys, he returns to build upon the many areas of work covered previously, which will fit seamlessly into his new role at PFK Rural.

Julie Liddle, a Director at PFK, said: "We are delighted to have James with us, he will be an extremely valuable member of the team and we each know how well we work together.

Succession planning, as with any business, is an aim PFK need to achieve as no business should avoid having such a plan for the future. For us, this appointment is a double boost. James returning is a great example of development and forethought for the business to secure good staff coupled with growing younger members of staff into new and wider positions within the firm."

In his day-to-day responsibilities James deals with landlord & tenant issues mostly through estate management, valuations, land use strategies, utility compensation claims and woodland and forestry work.

John Robson, PFK Director, said "we are delighted with this appointment. James is a key player in the future of the business and shows our commitment to developing younger members of the team. We have known James for many years since putting him through his Masters conversion degree to now appointing him as a Director of the firm. Good news for him and for us".
